It has come to my attention that a testimonial attributed to "The Savory Pie Guy" currently appears on Food Startup Help (https://www.foodstartuphelp.com/testimonials.html) claiming that Food Startup help provided production migration and troubleshooting services for Savory Pie Guy.

Please be advised of the following:

• This statement is published without my consent. I have formally requested its immediate removal.

• While Food Startup Help provided initial recipe formulation years ago, they did not assist with our production migration or troubleshooting. The endorsement implies ongoing professional support and successful operational consulting that simply did not occur.  Not only did they not help us, their actions actively worked to help destroy my company through their actions.

• I not only not endorse Food Startup Help or recommend their consulting or troubleshooting services, I highly suggest you stay away.
   

This is the message sent to Jeff Yoskowitz, a principle at Food Startup, on April 11th, 2026.  Jeff has refused to respond to, much less acknowledge the note.  It lays out what happened.  If you have any questions, please contact me directly.

At this point I will presume that this is about the failed trip to Toronto, if I'm wrong and it's something else, let me know.  I was open to having a conversation and was really hoping that you'd handle this a bit more professionally.  Instead,  you've opted to go the opposite direction.  I'm no longer shocked.  

 

Since the Toronto trip  appears to be the main issue, I want to remind you of the facts about that trip, a trip that is seared into my memory for the utter failure it was.   As you may or may not recall, the reason for the trip to Toronto was to solve a dough production problem.  The dough wasn't running through the machines properly and changes were needed.  We wanted you to come so you could see the system and offer suggestions, but you were not available.  When we spoke,  you told me that Kathryn would be able to do everything you could.  In fact, you personally assured  me she could do what was needed, so I accepted.  I paid for all of Kathryn's expenses - flight, hotel room, rental car and food for the  trip.  In addition, I paid nearly $18,000 to Morrison-Lamothe for the tests. I paid for the factory, 30 workers and ingredients.  All of which were wasted.   Kathryn knew nothing about the dough - she didn't know what was in it, how it was made or what the issues were. At one point she even asked me what the reason was for the milk powder.  They WHOLE POINT of having someone come to Toronto was to help us solve the dough problem.  Not only did she not have A SINGLE SUGGESTION on how to solve the problem, but she made the problem worse by driving up our development costs and wasting everyone's time.  Not a single, solitary thing  was gained by that trip.  In fact, that trip was the beginning of the end.  We ended up scrapping the dough, using an inferior substitute, which killed sales.  We ended up shuttering the whole enterprise not that long after.

 

When we got back, we never got a response from you or Kathryn that addressed the main issue - the fact that she was unprepared and possibly over her head.  We never even got suggestions on how to resolve the issues.  Why should we have been forced to pay for a service we never actually received?  And you have the chutzpa to be mad at me?

 

The irony of this whole situation is that the first testimonial on your website is from me, yet is wholly untrue.  You didn't help us migrate our production, nor did you help us with troubleshooting.  You created the original formulation, for which I am grateful, but you've literally not done a thing since.   In the mean time, you've been using my name to promote and support your business for over 10 years, so my testimonial must mean something - otherwise why would it be there?   I've sent numerous people your way over the years.  In all this time I've never asked you for a thing.  I had a questions I was hoping to get your advice on and you're going to stand on ceremony about an incident from over 10 years ago that, at minimum, you are 50% responsible for?  I expected more from you.

Take my name off your site.  You don't get to use me to promote yourself at my expense.
